About Us
Make-A-Wish® Arizona is proud to be the state where Make-A-Wish®, the international 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded.
Started in 1980 with one Arizona boy’s wish to be a police officer, our Chapter evolved into a dedicated community of volunteers, donors and Arizona families who have worked together to grant more than 4,100 wishes to date (as of Fall 2012).
We continue to be trailblazers, granting 288 wishes in fiscal year 2012, a record for our state. And we continue to dedicate ourselves to the Make-A-Wish mission, granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Our Chapter
Founded in 1980, Make-A-Wish® Arizona is the original Make-A-Wish® chapter. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to granting the wishes of Arizona children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
Our staff is based in Phoenix but supports the needs of children throughout Arizona, fulfilling each child’s wish to best create a joyful and meaningful experience that benefits both the child and the family. Wishes Come True
Since 1980, Make-A-Wish Arizona has provided magical wish experiences to more than 4,100 Arizona children. Each year, the number of wishes we are able to grant increases due to greater interest in state-wide fundraising activities, as well as the support of our families, our donors, corporate partners and you – our Make-A-Wish Arizona community.
In the 2012 fiscal year, our state chapter had a record year, granting 288 wishes! Yet, even with those spectacular numbers, the request for wishes continues to match or exceed our dedication to fulfilling as many wishes as possible.
With more than 400 wishes in our “que”, our staff aims to help 300 children see their most heartfelt wish come true in fiscal year 2013. Help us reach this goal together.
