To wish kid Yazy, Justin Bieber is not just a musician; he is someone who completely changed her medical journey. Yazy was born blind, and spent many days in and out of the hospital throughout the years due to a genetic disorder. It was during her recent medical concerns that Yazy really found a love for Justin Bieber. His music gave her energy and hope during some of the most difficult times in her diagnosis and treatments, and made her feel better.

Diagnosed at birth with a life-threatening cellular disease, Brielle has limited movement and must always take precautions against infection, which is why a backyard play area is the perfect wish for her. Make-A-Wish Arizona and numerous businesses in the city of Maricopa came together to grant wish kid Brielle's one true wish, to have a backyard where it is fun to play.

Thanks to everyone who donated their airline miles, Make-A-Wish Arizona raised 5 million miles in one day for Arizona wish kids with life-threatening medical conditions during the CBS 5 AZ Pay It Forward Airline Miles Drive on March 15. In Arizona, more than 290 kids each year choose a wish involving air travel, requiring 96 million miles. Once donated, your miles never expire and every mile helps wish kids and their families travel to destinations around the world.

Two years ago, Brett started feeling tightness in his chest. His heart swelled to twice its normal size and doctors had to implant a left ventricular assist device. On March 23, 2014, Brett received a heart transplant. His wish - to spend a day hanging out with Mike Trout and his Angels teammates - included one very big surprise. After throwing the first pitch of the game, it was announced that Brett was the 5,000 wish for Make-A-Wish Arizona.

Christmas on Comstock, a neighborhood light display near Elliot and Higley roads, beat neighborhoods across the country for best neighborhood light display on ABC's 'The Great Christmas Light Fight.' Christmas on Comstock will be open until New Year's Eve, where visitors can make a donation to Make-A-Wish Arizona. The display operates Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Make-A-Wish Arizona always loves new, creative ways to raise funds for future Arizona wish kids. 

Share with us your plans for a fundraiser to benefit Make-A-Wish Arizona by contacting Erin Mortensen, External Events Manager.

Whenever a group or individual is proposing to raise funds for our organization, our national office requires the completion of the Special Event Proposal and Licensing Agreement before you can associate Make-A-Wish with the event, so please contact the chapter to discuss your event idea.
