SCOTTSDALE (May 3, 2018) — Make-A-Wish® Arizona is excited to welcome eight new Arizona leaders of industry to its Board of Directors, totaling 31 individuals who are dedicating volunteer time and efforts toward granting wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Added to the board in April were: Oliver Badgio, Chief Brand Officer for Prime Steak Concepts; Cathie Batbie-Loucks, News Director for KVOA TV in Tucson; James Goodnow, Managing Partner at Fennemore Craig; Jereme Kelven, CEO of MyHomeGroup; Kyle Pottinger, Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service for the Phoenix Suns; Shane Power, President of Watertree Health; Kara Snyder, Director of Nursing for Banner – University Medical Center Tucson; and, Eric Thomae, Partner at Thomae Edmondson Law PLC and a wish dad.
“Adding a diverse roster of individuals from around the Valley and in Tucson will help our chapter and our future wish kids as we work toward our vision of granting every eligible wish in Arizona,” said Elizabeth Reich, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Arizona. “Our current Board of Directors is excited and eager to work together with this new 2018 ‘class’ of leaders who are giving their time and energy to grant wishes right here in Arizona.”
Make-A-Wish Arizona’s Board of Directors has been key in growing the number of wishes the chapter can grant by 3 to 5 percent annually over the past five years. The chapter has a goal to grant 400 wishes this fiscal year.
“Our Board of Directors is an active board, reaching out to corporations, organizations and even individuals as we work to reach more children in Arizona,” said Reich. “With 100 percent of our funds coming from direct donations, we are excited to see how these new board members can help us with our goal to reach more kids.”
The Board of Directors also appointed a new Slate of Officers, voting in as Chair Adam Stine, President of Stine Enterprises; Vice Chair Matt Eddleman, Vice President of the Southwest Region for Border States Electric Supply; Treasurer Craig Desnoyer, Partner at EY; and Secretary Jim Mullin, principal at MULLIN360.
