When Jesus, 10, wished to go to Washington D.C., he knew that he would be visiting the home and memories of presidents, past and future. However, he had no idea that he would get to meet an actual president in person until he stepped into Henkel Consumer Goods Headquarters for his wish send off party.
Henkel organized a special party Tuesday, June 10 at their consumer goods headquarters, featuring Jesus as their “President for the Day” and sending him on his wish trip with a standing ovation of more than 200 employees and some insight into how Henkel successfully raised the funds for his wish trip.
Jesus’ wish was sponsored by Henkel brand, Purex®, and their Bright Washes Bright Wishes campaign.
Employees at Henkel Consumer Goods came together to greet Jesus, who lives with life-threatening cystic fibrosis, and his family before they left for his wish trip to the nation’s capital.
“It’s been my wish to go to Washington D.C. ever since my mom told me about the city,” said Jesus. His trip was one of many sponsored by Purex® thanks to their national campaign.
"The employees at Henkel Consumer Goods were excited to meet Jesus and celebrate his upcoming wish with a special wish sendoff party on site,” said Andreas Hartleb, SVP & GM Henkel Laundry & Home Care “It was a wonderful opportunity to meet a child who benefits directly from our contribution.”
Jesus met with Henkel Consumer Goods president, Norbert Koll, and learned about being a president of a company and had the opportunity to make an ‘executive’ decision on the packaging for a new Renuzit® Super Odor Killer® air freshener. Jesus also toured Henkel’s laundry care lab where he donned a lab coat, and paired up with a scientist to experiment with dry ice, soap and water and discovered the amazing things that happen when you mix them together.
“This was a great day,” said Jesus after his send off party. “It was really cool to see all those people out there for me.”
