Make-A-Wish Arizona adds two new board members in 2019

Make-A-Wish® Arizona is excited to welcome two new Arizona leaders of industry to its Board of Directors, totaling 31 individuals who are dedicating volunteer time and efforts toward granting wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Added to the board in April were:  Doug Halbert, Vice President of Global Lifecycle Management Service Delivery for Tech Data; and Nancy Zezza, Corporate Banking Manager for BBVA Compass

"Adding Doug and Nancy to our board helps our chapter diversify our corporate partners, offering new perspectives and insight as we work toward our vision of granting the wish of every eligible child in Arizona,” said Elizabeth Reich, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Arizona. “Our current board members are excited and eager to work with both Doug and Nancy to grant wishes for children dealing with critical illnesses when they need them most.”

Make-A-Wish Arizona’s Board of Directors has been key in growing the number of wishes the chapter can grant by 3 to 5 percent annually over the past five years. The chapter has a goal to grant 405 wishes this fiscal year.

“Our Board of Directors is an active board, eagerly reaching out to their personal contacts at corporations and organizations so together, we can reach more children in Arizona every year,” said Reich. “With 100 percent of our funds coming from direct donations, we are excited to see how these new board members can help us with our goal to reach more kids.”

The Board of Directors also appointed a new Slate of Officers, voting in as Chair Matt Eddleman, Vice President of the Southwest Region for Border States Electric Supply; Vice Chair Jim Mullin, principal at MULLIN360; Treasurer Shane Power, President of Watertree Health; and Secretary Oliver Badgio, Chief Brand Officer for Prime Steak Concepts.
