"Myrta and I work well together," said Lori. "It's like walking in and sprinkling magic dust all around. We are both very dedicated to our wish kids."
The two were introduced to Make-A-Wish Arizona under different circumstances but both for the same reason: they both knew the power of a wish. In 2001, Lori's 3-year-old daughter Grace had a wish granted to have a playset. It was after Grace's wish that Lori knew she wanted to get involved. Myrta, on the other hand, attended an informational meeting on Make-A-Wish Arizona and knew she wanted to be a wish granter.
Today, they grant wishes, help train and mentor new wish granters, and share our mission throughout Prescott and surrounding communities.
Both Myrta and Lori believe there is nothing more fulfilling than bringing joy to a child.
"There are no words to describe how blessed I feel when seeing the excited and smiling faces of our wish kids," said Myrta.
Congratulations to Myrta George and Lori Padilla, our December 2014 Volunteers of the Month!
