Part 2: 8-year-old wish kid Rebekkah shares her story

Rebekkah likes to draw and read and says she wants to be a teacher when she grows up to help others. But Rebekkah is also a surviving twin. When she was an infant, she was hospitalized and doctors discovered a hole in her heart. Rebekkah’s mom contacted Make-A-Wish Arizona as a means to lift their spirits, and now, 8 years old, Rebekkah is looking forward to her wish to see her favorite princesses at Walt Disney World. This is the second of a four part series about Make-A-Wish Arizona.

Part 3: The Make-A-Wish story - It all started with one Arizona boy

Make-A-Wish is a global organization that grants the one true wish of kids with life-threatening medical conditions. But many people are surprised to hear the organization was founded right here in Arizona. It all started with a 7-year-old boy named Chris, who was diagnosed with leukemia and wanted to be a police officer when he grew up. To this day, Chris is the only civilian ever to be sworn in as an honorary DPS officer. This is the third of a four part series about Make-A-Wish Arizona.

Part 4: Discover the wish journey and the people who make wishes come true

A wish is much more than just a nice thing. Wishes give children he ability to feel optimistic about the future and to think about something greater than their next medical treatment. They empower kids to take back control of their lives and often can have a physical impact on a child's health.
