When Daelynn was approached by Make-A-Wish Arizona, she already knew just what her wish would be, to meet the princesses at Disneyland.
After a rough few months of treatments, infections, and chemotherapy for her leukemia, Daelynn was looking forward to a chance to have some fun.
“My favorite princess is Rapunzel and I just really want to meet her,” said Daelynn. But first, she became a princess just like her heroes with a special makeover by the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
After her makeover, her family was convinced they would spend the rest of the trip hunting down princesses but it turned out, Daelynn was ready for something more adventurous.
"We went on the Incredibles ride, the Buzz Lightyear ride, the Monsters Inc. ride, the Nemo ride, the Alice in Wonderland ride, and the King Kong ride, we also got to go on so many rides and try so many foods, it was great," Daelynn continued. “The Cars ride was my favorite. I’ve seen all the Cars movies and I love Lightning McQueen because he’s so fast.”
“It was so amazing to see Daelynn really enjoy her wish after seeing her at her worst and experiencing that pain with her,” said Maria, Daelynn’s mother. “The pain, the pushing herself, no one wants to see that, so it was so great to see that complete opposite side of her.”
“Daelynn is more open to new experiences now because of her wish,” Maria continued. “She is more excited to try new things and go new places whether that involve food, more rollercoasters, or anything in between. It’s amazing to think her wish did that for her and we are very grateful it did. ”
