When Romeo isn’t in school, at doctor’s appointments, or playing basketball, he is at home watching YouTube videos. Some of Romeo’s favorite videos to watch are about theme parks.
Romeo has been to Legoland and Disneyland before, but videos on YouTube showed him that Walt Disney World had some incredible rides to explore so he chose to go to Disney World when his volunteers told him he was eligible for a wish.
“Romeo chose Walt Disney World because he loves Star Wars and all the Disney characters especially Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Mickey Mouse,” said Nicole, Romeo’s mother. The trip started with a ride in a limo to the airport, as well as some special treatment at the airport.
“We don’t go on airplanes much so he loved that and the crew even let him go into the cockpit” said Nicole. Once they landed in Florida, Romeo and his family piled into the rental car and made their way to the happiest place on earth.
Romeo’s family stayed at Give Kids the World at one of the cabins.
“It was so animated and looked like Candyland,” said Nicole. “We went to the house they provided which had two big bedrooms and a big jacuzzi bathtub.” Romeo loved that he could order whatever food he wanted whenever he wanted. He also loved getting the daily goodie bags filled with toys.”
Every day was spent exploring the parks Romeo saw on YouTube, including Epcot and Animal Kingdom.
“His favorite ride was Star Wars because he researched it so much online and it really lived up to its expectations” said Nicole.
Romeo also got priority in lines and was able to get on most of the rides.
“It was so amazing and we were able to buy him lots of Disney gifts and eat lots of the food there with all this special treatment” Nicole noted. “He hasn’t stopped talking about it since we got back and is already on YouTube researching his next theme park to explore.”
